What’s In a Name?

What’s in a name? That which we call rose By any other name would smell as sweet” Romeo and Juliet (II, ii, 1-2)

1839208_origI. Have. A. VAGINA.  Not a va-jay-jay or a kitty or a snatch. I have a vagina. Not a pussy or a coochie or a twat. I have a vagina. While pet names for her were once endearing, I no longer care for them.  Here’s the thing: I have a VAGINA – A Very Authentic Genetically Ingenious Neoblastic Anatomy. She is the giver of life (and death). She is love and lust.  She is my lover and my friend (and, on occasion, my foe). She is unique in every way. She is flexible and giving;  she responds with grace and poise only comparable to a goddess. I have a VAGINA.
Many have erroneously labeled her as weak, fragile and submissive but, allow me  to dispel any myths on the subject. My vagina is a force to be reckoned with. She is my badge of honour. She is not a cunt. She is not a poonanie or a hoo-haa. Such base terminology could never do her justice.  Please, do not take her name in vain.  She is not a cuss word, an insult synonymous with frailty and cowardice. You assume too much to even insinuate that she is anything less than a warrior queen.  She is an Amazon.  She is Kali’s destruction and Joan of Arc in arms.  She is Oya’s fertile magic and Cleopatra’s charm. She is pleasure and pain; light and dark. She is beauty and oddity wrapped in flesh embedded in mystery and defiance against conformity.  She is power and perception.  Love her, adorn her and accept her. Do not shame her or be ashamed of her. I will not hide her away like some malformed Quasimodo in the bell tower of my misinformed socialization.  I will not speak of her in hushed tones behind crimson, velvet curtains like a dirty secret.

I. have. a. vagina. That is her name and title.  But then again…what’s in a name?

Why do people say “Grow some balls”? Balls are weak and sensitive. If you wanna be tough, grow a vagina.  Those things can take a beating” – Betty White
