● Live Podcast, Magazine Launch & Multi-Sensory Art Experience

“Breaking the Silence”

This project brought together 60 community members for an immersive evening celebrating the launch of a debut print magazine through live journalism, participatory art, and social gathering. Centered on The Glossary of Loneliness, the event explored the often-unspoken forms of silence that exist within romantic, familial, and professional relationships.

Designed as a multi-channel storytelling experience, the project transformed abstract emotional states into shared language. By introducing a lexicon for otherwise unnamed experiences of isolation, the event invited attendees to move beyond passive observation and into active emotional literacy. The result was a culturally resonant gathering that balanced intellectual depth, artistic experimentation, and meaningful human connection.

Program Structure

The event was a multi-layered experience anchored by The Glossary of Loneliness, a custom-developed lexicon designed to “break the silence” by naming subtle, often invisible forms of loneliness. This framework acted as the connective tissue across the evening, offering participants a shared language to articulate internal experiences. Guests were first invited into an interactive, multi-sensory gallery installation where the themes and vocabulary of the Glossary were translated into tactile and visual encounters. The experience culminated in a live podcast recording that served as the evening’s narrative core, transforming the audience from passive listeners into active participants in a collective conversation about silence, intimacy, and connection. Following the recording, a social celebration marked the launch of the debut print magazine, featuring drinks, contributor conversations, door prizes, and personal magazine signings to foster direct relationships between creators and readers. Accessibility and community care were central to the program design, with a suggested donation model removing financial barriers while encouraging voluntary support, alongside a special gift activation that rewarded existing magazine owners and strengthened long-term community loyalty.
