“The New Post Race Ritual”

Re-Frame is an art-driven post-race ritual designed to give runners what the finish line rarely does: space to slow down, reflect, and let the meaning of the race fully land. Through guided creative practices, participants transform their race artifacts into keepsakes they actually want to hold onto—objects that carry memory, effort, and emotion beyond the medal.

Launched at the 2025 TCS Toronto Marathon , Re-Frame revealed a powerful truth: runners weren’t ready to rush off once the race was over. Days after the finish line, runners got together— building collages, sharing stories, and debriefing the experience together. What emerged was an “after” space, where accomplishment could be processed, not just celebrated.

Program Structure

The evening begins with arrival and check-in, inviting runners to settle in, connect with one another, and explore materials. From there, the workshop opens with a brief welcome and intention-setting, followed by a guided introduction to the creative process. Using their race bibs and curated collage materials, participants are led through reflective prompts that encourage storytelling, self-recognition, and emotional processing.

The majority of the program is dedicated to open creative work time, allowing each participant to move at their own pace while facilitators offer support, conversation, and gentle guidance. The experience concludes with an optional sharing moment—an opportunity to celebrate the work created, the race completed, and the collective energy of the group.

Target Audience

Designed for runners and endurance athletes who want more than a finish-line photo. Our audience includes marathon and half-marathon participants, run club members, and movement-driven creatives who value reflection, community, and meaningful experiences. They are people who see racing not just as a physical challenge, but as a personal milestone—and want a way to honor what it took to get there.
